2010 JUNIOR NEWSLETTER

Welcome to a new year of tennis at Lomond Park. We are extremely lucky to have 2 brilliant  coaches, Neil Harden and Dave McLean. Feel free to use your membership as much as possible and please persuade your parents to support your matches.

Please remember not to cross the back courts while rallies are being played.

Teams

6 teams have been entered in the East of Scotland leagues, starting on 16th April  (based on last year’s membership):

Girls U18 and U14             Boys U18, U16,  U14 & U12

If at all possible please try to play in a team if asked to do so.

I would love to hear from anyone who may like to join a team (don’t be shy … we all have to start somewhere!)

Junior coaching

Saturday coaching

These classes for younger juniors are free to members and member’s children. Non-members will pay £5 per hour. 

 6-8 years      1.00-2.00pm

 8-10 years (or improvers)       2.00-3.00pm.

 Classes start on 24th April.


Junior  tennis 11 - 18 years - members only

All juniors but particularly those wishing to play team tennis are encouraged to attend

For 4 weeks prior to the start of the East of Scotland league games, on 6th, 13th, 20th, & 27th March :

U12 & U14             2.00 - 3.30pm 

U16 & U18             3.30 - 5.00pm

From 24th April onwards, the timing will be 3.00pm - 5.00pm.

Juniors must have a British Tennis Membership number to play in league matches - apply online via the LTA link.

EASTER COACHING WEEKS

5th - 9th April ( at Lomond Park) and 12th -16th April ( at St. Serf's)

Mini  Junior Tournament ( ages 2-11) on 6th June at 3pm and family BBQ . Entries on the day.


Junior Tournament

Entries to be made from 24th April until 14th May.         .

Junior Finals and Family BBQ on 20th June  at 12 noon.
