Welcome to Lomond Park Tennis Club
A very warm welcome to you all at the start of a new season.
We have a full schedule arranged for the year with plenty of social events and hopefully 2014 will be another enjoyable and exciting year. We have welcomed a quite a few new members this year - I do hope that you will manage along to some of our social events and enjoy your tennis at Lomond Park
Please make sure you are a member of British Tennis Member and that your contact details are up to date.
We have another full programme this year of league tennis matches with 4 Men’s teams, 4 Ladies’ teams and 7 teams of Juniors. We are always looking for fresh and new talent to play for the Club so if you are interested in playing in the teams, please contact the team captains and/or come along to our practice nights - Mens’ on Monday nights and Ladies’ on Tuesday nights - and introduce yourself to anyone who is there.
More information can be found in the Adult and Junior sections of the website. Good luck to all the teams!
We have been lucky enough to secure Stuart Brown as our new coach. Stuart is a fully licensed UKCC Level 3 Tennis Coach and he will be running a variety of programmes for the club. He is also available for private group and individual lessons.
Stuart works part time as Tennis Development Officer and Positive Coaching Scotland Lead Officer for East Lothian Council and also does some coaching at Craiglockhart. Unfortunately he is unable to play for our Men’s 1st team as he is currently Men’s 1st Team Captain at Barnton Park LTC.
All members 9 years and over, except non-playing and country members, are eligible to enter the ballot and you must be a British Tennis Member. If you wish to enter the ballot, you must email
to register interest.
The draw will take place on Sunday 27th April at 4pm after the Hart Cup.
You must be present at the draw or send a representative. No tickets will be issued if you or your representative is not present at the draw.
The LTA has created an online system to help clubs administer their ballots. This year, the winners will purchase their tickets via the LTA website or by phone. The tickets will then be dispatched, in late May, directly to the purchaser.
We have a full programme of different events throughout the year which started with The Brass Monkeys Tournament on Sunday 16th March.
Please download the calendar and add the events to your diary/calendar at home. This year we have started 'Social Sunday' for all members. Initially this will run from 16.30-18.30 every Sunday
This year you will receive an email at the end of every month with news and reminders of forthcoming events in the following month.
Please also check the website and noticeboards as these will be updated regularly.
If you are able to help with any of the events please contact any of the committee members. Your help will be gratefully received whether it be baking, barbecuing or helping out with the ‘First Friday’ social evenings.
You will be receiving an email shortly from the Secretary about the payment of the annual subscriptions. If you pay before the end of March you will not have to pay the late fee (£30 for adults, £10 for juniors).
We have simplified the subscription categories this year and have waived the joining fee.
There are 2 methods of paying – bank transfer (BACs) and PayPal.
We are encouraging everyone to pay by bank transfer (BACs), either online or pop in to your branch. Please remember to quote as a reference for your payment, your family surname, number of members and your postcode (eg Smithx4EH53LX). This reference allows us to match up your application with payment.
This is the preferred method of payment and 2014 will be the last year LPLTC will accept PayPal payments, therefore avoiding their unnecessary fees.
I hope we all have an enjoyable year of tennis and if you have any queries, please feel free to get in touch.
